As part of our 1% for-the-Planet contribution, 5% of all proceeds from the book will be donated to the London based food charity City Harvest. They help rescue and distribute surplus food to feed the most vulnerable in the community.
We worked with four amazing food influencers who each kindly donated 4 on-the-go recipes to this book. They include the food, design and sustainability expert Christine Wong of Conscious Cooking , the nutritionist Ryan Carter of Live Vitae, the artist, author, photographer and cook Sara Kiyo Popowa of Shisodelicious, the vegan food blogger Hannah Sunderani of Two Spoons.
When it comes to food on-the-go, everyone has different desires, tastes and diets. This recipe book will inspire you to make delicious breakfasts, snacks, wraps, sandwiches, salads, pasta, noodles, stir-fries, soups, stews and curries.
Each recipe also recommends which lunch box or pot to use with it, which is most suitable in relation to how to carry and eat the particular food, but also in relation to volume of the ingredients.
When we design a new lunch box, we always start by considering the user and the food that they might want to make. Once we have designed the lunch box and need to market it, part of the challenge is giving people the imagination to see how they can use it. Although this book isn’t a product in the sense of it being a 3-dimensional form study like everything else we design, it is very much a product and we were conscious that we wanted it to have all the attention to detail and thought that we give to everything we design. Along with our talented in-house graphic designer, we worked with an amazing external food writer and photographer to help us curate our own recipe book. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we did sampling the different recipes.
